Sangita Mondal engaged with a wide spectrum of plant-microbe interactions, from pathogenic mechanisms to beneficial symbioses at IS-MPMI Congress, 2025. A key highlight was the EMBO Keynote by Dr. Rotem Sorek (Weizmann Institute), who shared compelling insights into bacterial immune system evolution. Sangita presented her research poster to an international audience and had insightful discussions with leading scientists, including Dr. Roger Innes (Indiana University), Dr. Mary Beth Mudgett (Stanford University), and others.

It was a pleasure to attend the Indo-French workshop on the plant microbiome in Lyon, co-organized by Profs. Zahar Haichar and Shilpi Sharma — thanks to @IFCPAR @IndiaDST for the excellent platform for collaboration.

Happy to participate and contribute to the Mini-Symposium on "The omnipresent microbes - revealing their mystical life" on May 25, 2023, at the National Centre for Cell Science (NCCS), Pune. The event was organized jointly by the Association of Microbiologists of India (AMI) Pune Unit, and the Indian National Young Academy of Sciences Under the leadership of the National Centre for Cell Science, Pune.

Dr. Chandrima Bhttacharyya, a former member of our team has been selected for the prestigious Lady Devis Fellowship for pursuing her research at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem. Unfortunately, she is not going to avail the fellowship

Arghya spent three wonderful months learning in the laboratory of Prof. Sonja Verena Albers at the University of Freiburg in Germany through the EMBO scientific exchange program. During his stay, he had the opportunity to work on an exciting project related to archaeal genetics. Overall, it was an incredible opportunity for the Ghosh laboratory to expand its horizons and establish new collaborations.

Members of the Ghosh laboratory had enjoyed the recent visit of the first Ph.D. student Dr. Mousam Roy, on April 17th, 2023, who is currently working at the Weizmann Institute of Science. He delivered an excellent lecture on the role of CCT2 in Leber Congenital Amaurosis as a part of Biochemistry Lecture Series at Bose Institute, Kolkata. We enjoyed discussing science and sharing ideas together after a long time.

Today, on March 11 2023, Dr Francis Brearley from Manchester Metropolitan University, UK visited our laboratory. He is a tropical ecologist with a key interest in the importance of plant-soil relationships for ecosystem processes in tropical forests (particularly South-east Asia). It was fun to discuss science and beyond
